Manufactured by Professionals

All FOZ Racing Cars are built at John Godfrey’s Indiana facility which has been purposely constructed and equipped for the task of building open wheel racing cars.  The cars are built at the hands of Godfrey and experienced car builder, crew chief and car owner Jim Reider.

Godfrey is most recognized for building one of the sports top chassis companies, Stealth Motorsports.  A company which flourished because of Godfrey’s attention to quality, innovation and on-track performance.  Although Godfrey sold Stealth in 1998, he has now decided to return after a short hiatus from the sport.  Just viewing the cars that line the shelves around the top of his shop lends credence to Godfrey’s ability to turn-out winning racing cars.  Names like Swindell, Jones, Drake, Jacobs, Stewart and many others have utilized Godfrey’s Stealth racing cars to win some of the country’s largest events—including a streak of victories at the prestigous Belleville Nationals and Chili Bowl events.  Godfrey’s production facility is well equipped with state of the art chassis building equipment and is easily one of the cleanest and most orderly chassis facilities in the country.

Jim Reider has been a long-time fixture in open wheel racing on the East Coast.  Reider’s involvement in the sport dates back to the mid 1960’s.  Early on Reider fielded entries for Pancho Carter.  Reider’s cars have scored many championships and single event victories including five east coast midget championships, “The Night Before the 500” midget race, “The Hoosier 100” and the Syracuse Mile for Champ Cars and numerous other victories at tracks throughout the country.  As a builder Reider was responsible for building 45 roadster style TQ midgets, some of which are still running in the New England area.  He also built ten midgets.  The Ciconi’s purchased Reider’s midgets and hired him to take care of them resulting in several race wins at Indianapolis Raceway Park.  After retiring from a successful crane business, Reider moved to the Indianapolis area where he has spent the last six years working for top open wheel teams including drivers like Tracy Hines, KC Kahne, JJ Yeley, Ron Gregory, Teddy Beach and Tom Hessert.
