Paul Nets FOZ Cars' First Win
Mini Sprint driver Jamie Paul picked one of the
most competitive events of the season to score not only his own first
victory, but also the first victory for the new FOZ Race Cars upright mini
sprint. The occasion for Paul’s first victory was the 2nd annual
Mini Sprint Madness event at Limaland Speedway in Northern, Ohio. This year
the event drew a collection of 28 competitors that regularly compete at 35
Raceway Park and Waynesfield Motorsports Park. Paul’s victory was a
flag-to-flag run.
FOZ Car’s, Larry Fasse, commented, “I am very
pleased. The momentum has been building for the past few weeks. We’re new
at this and certainly don’t have the number of cars out there as competing
car builders, but over the past few weeks the cars we do have out there have
consistently been up front.” The results that Fasse speaks of include a
third and sixth place finish in American Mini Sprint Association 1200cc
competition at Lawrenceburg Speedway by drivers Scott Fasse and Howard
McCormick. That same weekend Paul posted a fourth place finish in his FOZ
Car at Waynesfield Motorsports Park, while Rich Woods posted a 2nd
place finish in the ultra competitive Central New York Mini Sprints.
The chassis for the FOZ Car Mini Sprints are
built by John Godfrey in his Spike Chassis manufacturing facility. The
chassis as well as complete FOZ car kits are marketed exclusively by Speed

“As we’ve started to get a few cars out there where people can see them,
we’re seeing a lot of interest. You don’t have to say much. The quality of
John’s work coupled with the impressive results his midgets and sprints have
posted creates interest”, commented Fasse. To date Godfrey creations have
taken victories in almost every major midget event of the year including the
Chili Bowl and the Belleville nationals.
